
Philosophy & Practice of Classical Education
In Level II, now having a deeper understanding of what classical education is from Level I, participants will further explore the liberal arts and how vital curriculum is in the classroom. Participants must have completed Level I and should plan to complete Level II within one year of enrollment.

Courses
Participants will enroll in two courses:
- Essentials of Excellent Curriculum:
3 class sessions by experienced CLSA staff, walking through curriculum in the Primary, Grammar, and Upper schools - Introduction to the Liberal Arts:
15 live class sessions through Memoria College (available in Summer & Fall semesters)
Written Summaries
At the conclusion of each course, participants will write & submit a 2500 word summary, detailing the areas of study addressed and how it applies to their particular context as an educator.
Meeting with Representative
Following each written summary’s submission, participants will meet with their designated CLSA representative to discuss the papers and to review observations. They will meet a total of two times, following the conclusion of each course (Intro to the Liberal Arts and Essentials of Excellent Curriculum).
Requirements & Materials Needed
It is required that participants applying for Level II have completed Level I, possessing a strong desire to learn and displaying strong oral and written communication skills.
Applicants must have access to stable internet connection, a computer, an email address, a microphone, a web camera, and a word processing software (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.).
If a participant chooses to take the Memoria College courses for credit, these texts from the Encyclopedia Britannica’s Great Books of the Western World set are required. They are highly recommended for any participant. Questions about the reading material can be directed to tutor@memoriacollege.org.
Cost & Enrollment
The fee for Level II Certification is $625 per participant, which includes all courses and designated time with a CLSA representative to review Level II. If a participant wishes to obtain three masters-level credit hours for the Memoria College class, they may pay an additional $125. This credit is applicable towards Memoria College’s M.A. in the Great Books.
For schools who have a CLSA Partner Membership, the Level II Certification fee is reduced to $550 per participant.
