Knowledge does not come to us already ordered; we must order it. And in order for us to order anything, we must ourselves be ordered. In short, the problem is not information; the problem is us. Knowledge—however much or little there is—does not come to us already ordered; it awaits an orderly mind to impose an order on it, an order which should reflect the outside material and metaphysical order—what Christian philosopher Charles Taylor has called the ontic logos, the very order of reality.
